Das 2006 gegründete Games College Wien lädt wieder zum Tag der offenen Tür ein. Als erste österreichische Institution, bei der die praxisnahe Entwicklung von Computerspielen im Mittelpunkt steht, kann das in Wien 12 beheimatete Games College nicht nur bereits auf zwei „fertige“ Projekte verweisen (Download auf www.games-college.com), sondern auch auf eine stark ansteigende Zahl der Studenten, wobei sich ebenfalls der Anteil an Frauen verdoppelt hat.
Das Konzept, mit Vortragenden aus der Branche die Studenten auf den späteren Beruf vorzubereiten, geht also auf und auch das Interesse seitens der Industrie ist nach wie vor in steigendem Maße vorhanden.

“Trigger Happy is a book about the aesthetics of videogames — what they share with cinema, the history of painting, or literature; and what makes them different, in terms of form, psychology and semiotics. It was first published in 2000; this is the revised edition with the Afterword written in 2001. The book is offered under a CC license, for a limited time only.”

This new scientific, international, peer reviewed online journal deals with everything ludic and looks at digital games from a multitude of perspectives.
